A group chat where different languages are welcome

For global teams, communities, clubs and groups.

When a group spans languages, the conversation usually collapses to whoever is most comfortable in English — and everyone else goes quiet. Espero removes that. Each member writes in their own language and reads every message in theirs, so the whole group can actually take part.

Reader-specific translation across 100+ supported languages

Members can use different supported languages in one thread. Each person sees a reader-specific translation in their selected language, with the original one tap away. Translation quality can vary by language and content.

Everyone contributes, not just the fluent

People say more, and say it better, in their own language. A multilingual team where nobody has to translate themselves first gets the quiet members' ideas too — not just the confident English speakers'.

One conversation, however many languages

Keep the whole team, community or audience in one shared thread. Everyone writes naturally and reads in their own language, with the original always one tap away.

Works everywhere your group is

iOS, Android and the web, one account each. People can join from a link in the browser — no install required to read along. Reactions, replies, pins and media all work, with translation woven through.

Honest about privacy

Cloud-chat content is encrypted in transit and at rest on EU-hosted app servers and processed for delivery and translation. Eligible cloud messages may also receive semantic-search embeddings while that server feature is enabled; relevant eligible content is processed for AI features requested by an authorised participant. Content is not sold or used for advertising. Because cloud features require server-side processing, group chats are not end-to-end encrypted. See the security model.

Frequently asked

Is there a group chat where everyone speaks a different language?

Yes — in an Espero group each member writes in their own language and reads messages in their selected language. Espero's catalog supports 100+ languages, with quality and feature availability varying by language.

How do multilingual teams communicate without a shared language?

Nobody has to settle on one language — everyone writes naturally in their own and reads replies in theirs, on any platform.

Can a large group use many languages at once?

Yes. Everyone stays in the same conversation while each member reads messages in their own language.
